Masrour Barzani Urges Swift KRG Government Formation

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani said talks on KRG government formation have produced no new developments. However, he stressed that delays harm public confidence. Therefore, he renewed his call for swift political agreement. He also urged all parties to respect election results.

Barzani spoke during a public address following recent political meetings. He explained that negotiations continue but lack concrete outcomes. Moreover, he warned that prolonged talks weaken institutions. As a result, he urged political blocs to act responsibly. He said voters expect action, not delays.

The prime minister emphasized the importance of unity. In particular, he called for Kurdish consensus on the presidency. He said agreement on this issue strengthens political stability. Furthermore, he stressed that unified positions protect constitutional rights. Consequently, he urged parties to avoid internal disputes.

Barzani also addressed relations with Baghdad. He called on federal authorities to honor salary commitments. He said public employees should not suffer due to political disputes. Therefore, he demanded equal treatment with other regions. He added that financial obligations require consistency and fairness.

The prime minister linked economic stability to political progress. He explained that uncertainty discourages investment. In contrast, a formed government restores confidence. As a result, he described KRG government formation as an urgent priority.

Barzani also highlighted public expectations. He said citizens want services, jobs, and stability. Moreover, he noted that delays affect daily life. Therefore, he urged leaders to move beyond partisan interests. He emphasized responsibility toward voters.

Meanwhile, political negotiations continue among major parties. However, observers note growing pressure for resolution. Barzani said leadership requires difficult decisions. He added that compromise strengthens governance. Consequently, he repeated his call for immediate action.

In conclusion, Barzani reaffirmed his commitment to dialogue. At the same time, he stressed urgency. The KRG government formation process, he said, must move forward without further delay.
