KRG Offers 20% Electricity Discount for e-Psûle Users

The Kurdistan Regional Government announced a new e-Psûle electricity discount to encourage digital payments across the Kurdistan Region. The e-Psûle electricity discount grants households a 20 percent reduction on their electricity bills when they pay electronically through the unified platform. Moreover, officials confirmed that the incentive will remain valid for a 30-day period.

Under this initiative, any household that completes payment through e-Psûle will qualify for the e-Psûle electricity discount. The program applies whether residents pay an existing balance or a newly issued bill under the Runaki project. Therefore, families can benefit immediately without waiting for a specific billing cycle.

The KRG introduced this step to accelerate digital transformation and reduce reliance on cash payments. In addition, authorities aim to simplify transactions and increase transparency in public services. Officials emphasized that electronic payments strengthen efficiency while also supporting financial modernization.

Furthermore, the government linked the initiative to broader reforms in the energy sector. The Runaki project continues to expand twenty-four-hour electricity coverage across the Kurdistan Region. As coverage increases, digital billing systems will play a central role in improving service delivery.

Officials encouraged citizens to use e-Psûle during the promotional period. They explained that the discount reflects the government’s commitment to citizen-focused reforms. At the same time, they stressed that digital payments help create a more organized and accountable electricity system.

Through the e-Psûle electricity discount, the KRG seeks to reward early adopters and promote long-term behavioral change. Ultimately, leaders view this measure as another step toward modern governance and sustainable public services.
