ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – President Masoud Barzani phoned an injured Asayish member to check on his health following the recent drone attack on Erbil International Airport.
During the call, Barzani spoke with security commander Nazim Mohamed Kanabi, who was wounded in the Erbil Airport drone attack. The president asked about his condition and wished him a swift recovery.
Kanabi was among the security personnel injured when the drone strike targeted the airport area. Authorities said the attack caused casualties and damage, prompting widespread condemnation from Kurdish leaders.
During the conversation, Barzani praised the dedication and sacrifice of security forces who protect the Kurdistan Region. He expressed appreciation for their continued service despite the risks they face.
In addition, the president emphasized the importance of supporting those injured while performing their duties. He noted that the sacrifices of security personnel play a key role in maintaining stability.
