ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani congratulated Mojtaba Ali Khamenei on his selection as Iran’s new Supreme Leader.
In a message to Khamenei, Nechirvan Barzani offered his congratulations and wished him success in guiding the country. He also expressed hope that relations between the Kurdistan Region and Iran would grow stronger.

Mojtaba Khamenei was chosen by Iran’s Assembly of Experts following the passing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The Assembly is responsible for selecting Iran’s Supreme Leader.
