Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and Jordan’s King Discuss Regional Security and Economic Pressures

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani held a phone call with Jordan’s King Abdullah II to discuss regional security and growing economic pressures affecting the Middle East.

During the call, both sides reviewed recent developments in the region. They expressed concern over rising tensions and their impact on stability and economic conditions.

Additionally, Barzani highlighted the challenges facing the Kurdistan Region. He pointed to economic pressures linked to disruptions in energy exports and regional instability.

Moreover, The prime minister outlined steps taken by the Kurdistan Regional Government to ease these pressures. He said one key measure was permitting the resumption of oil exports through the Kurdistan Region’s pipeline to the Turkish port of Ceyhan.

He stressed that restoring oil exports is essential for improving public revenues. He added that it will help support economic stability during a difficult period.

King Abdullah II emphasized the importance of cooperation between regional partners. He said joint efforts are necessary to address shared security and economic challenges.

Both leaders agreed on the need to reduce tensions through dialogue. They stressed that political solutions are key to maintaining long-term stability.

The two sides also highlighted the importance of strengthening economic cooperation. They said closer coordination can help mitigate the impact of regional crises.
