ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – President Nechirvan Barzani of the Kurdistan Region received a phone call from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE , following a drone attack targeting Barzani’s residence in Duhok.
During the call, Sheikh Mohammed strongly condemned the drone strike. He emphasized that the United Arab Emirates remains fully committed to supporting Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as well as to protecting stability and security in the region.
President Barzani expressed his gratitude for the UAE’s ongoing support. He thanked Sheikh Mohammed for the swift communication and underscored the importance of continued cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and the UAE.
The conversation also included a discussion of the latest developments in regional security and the ongoing efforts to de-escalate conflicts in the Middle East. Both leaders stressed the importance of diplomatic engagement to prevent further escalation.
