Peshmerga Minister Condemns Deadly Drone Strike, Calls Civilian Safety ‘Red Line’

Shoresh Ismail strongly condemned a deadly drone strike that killed civilians in the Kurdistan Region. The attack has raised serious concerns about security and stability.

In a statement, Shoresh Ismail stressed the importance of protecting citizens. “We reiterate that the lives of citizens and the sovereignty of our land are red lines,” he said. He also called for stronger action from Government of Iraq. According to Ismail, Baghdad must take responsibility to prevent further attacks.

The minister urged the international community to respond. He called for what he described as a “practical stance” to address ongoing threats. In addition, Ismail warned that continued attacks could destabilize the region. As a result, he emphasized the need for urgent and coordinated efforts.

The drone strike is part of a series of recent incidents. Several attacks have targeted the Kurdistan Region in recent weeks. Therefore, concerns over civilian safety continue to grow. Because of this, Kurdish officials are increasing security measures. They are also working to improve coordination with federal authorities.

Moreover, Ismail stressed the importance of accountability. He said those responsible must be identified and held accountable under the law. The Peshmerga minister reaffirmed that civilian safety is a top priority. Therefore, he called for immediate steps to prevent further attacks and protect the people of the Kurdistan Region.
