The Erbil Roads Maintenance and Protection Directorate launched this extensive renovation just a short while ago. The entire highway renovation project follows a strict three-phase development plan accordingly. Meanwhile, the total estimated cost for the initiative reaches one billion dinars. Workers fully completed the first phase by completely resurfacing and restoring all the designated sections.
The government already secured the necessary funding for the upcoming second phase of development. Additionally, this specific stage covers a distance of 10 kilometers. Construction teams plan to begin active physical work on the section in the near future.
The directorate manages several other road renovation initiatives across the province simultaneously. For instance, they recently completed an overhaul of the main road connecting Qandil and Makradan. Technical teams continue to apply advanced asphalt mixtures to enhance long-term durability.
