Hoshyar Zebari Commends Iraqi Prime Minister’s Washington Trip and New Strategic Agreements

Prominent Kurdish politician Hoshyar Zebari strongly praised the recent U.S. visit by Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi. Specifically, Zebari described the six-day diplomatic trip as a historic step toward building a lasting strategic partnership. He shared his supportive message on social media following high-level meetings in Washington. Zebari congratulated Prime Minister al-Zaidi for achieving significant economic and political progress during the visit.

The Iraqi prime minister met directly with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House. Trump expressed satisfaction with their bilateral discussions and pledged strong government support. Furthermore, he praised al-Zaidi’s efforts to strengthen state governance and regional stability. Meanwhile, delegations from both countries negotiated important agreements related to financial reform and future energy projects. As a result, the two sides signed memoranda of understanding aimed at expanding trade and bilateral investment.

Prime Minister al-Zaidi concluded his comprehensive six-day diplomatic mission on Saturday. He thanked the U.S. administration and American people for providing a warm welcome. He also emphasized the importance of quickly implementing the newly signed economic agreements. Al-Zaidi described the strategic accords as the beginning of a transformative economic phase. Therefore, Baghdad expects increased regional development and stronger financial cooperation with Washington in the coming years. Government officials in Baghdad have already begun preparing implementation plans for the energy and finance sectors.

Zebari’s positive remarks reflect growing confidence among senior Iraqi officials regarding international relations. Furthermore, policymakers view the new economic agreements as important tools for achieving long-term national stability. Kurdish political leaders also consider the diplomatic initiative a significant achievement. However, analysts will closely watch how effectively government institutions translate these commitments into practical results. Overall, regional leaders hope the developing partnership will contribute to greater security and prosperity in the Middle East. The agreement marks a new chapter in U.S.-Iraqi cooperation, with both governments preparing to implement key economic initiatives across strategic sectors.
