President Masoud Barzani met with South Korean Consul General Eoon-Gyo Shim in Erbil to discuss expanding cooperation in education, healthcare, and other important sectors. The meeting highlighted the continued development of relations between the Kurdistan Region and South Korea.
The meeting took place at President Barzani’s headquarters in Erbil. During the talks, both sides reviewed opportunities to strengthen partnerships and increase coordination in areas that directly support social development.
South Korean Consul General Eoon-Gyo Shim expressed appreciation for the opportunity to meet President Barzani. Additionally, he praised Barzani’s historical role in the Kurdish national movement and highlighted similarities between Korean and Kurdish experiences.

The Zaytun Division carried out humanitarian and reconstruction activities in the region. Therefore, Barzani described the mission as an important foundation for friendship between South Korean and Kurdish communities.
