The Kurdistan Regional Government is on the verge of completing its comprehensive financial digitisation program this week. Registration officials confirmed that Monday marks the final deadline for all remaining public-sector employees to complete the registration process.
Sivan Barzanji, the registration supervisor for the My Account project, announced that registration has officially surpassed 97 percent. Consequently, regional authorities will strictly enforce the deadline and will not grant any further extensions to late applicants.
The implementation of the deadline is directly linked to agreements reached between regional finance officials and Baghdad. Completing this transitional phase will permanently end manual cash payments across regional government departments and ministries.
Banking partners have prepared more than 60,000 payment cards for immediate collection at designated bank branches. In addition, technicians will deliver another 30,000 cards to participating banks over the next two days.
Officials are encouraging government employees to monitor their mobile phones for official text messages providing information about card collection locations. Meanwhile, printing facilities are finalizing another 50,000 cards for distribution by next week.
Barzanji reassured public-sector employees that automated teller machine networks are capable of handling high transaction volumes across major urban centers. As a result, beneficiaries are currently able to withdraw their monthly salaries through secure electronic systems without significant technical interruptions or delays.
Financial experts say that integrating digital banking into the public payroll system will modernize salary management while significantly reducing administrative costs. Electronic transactions can also improve transparency, prevent accounting discrepancies, strengthen institutional accountability, and enhance fiscal governance across the Kurdistan Region.
Moving forward, government agencies will process civil-service payments exclusively through participating commercial banks. Project supervisors will also continue monitoring ATM infrastructure to ensure reliable and uninterrupted services for all registered employees.
