UAE Expresses Solidarity With Kurdistan Region After Iranian Drone Attacks on Erbil

The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned recent Iranian drone attacks on Erbil following an overnight strike. UAE Foreign Ministry officials expressed full solidarity with the Kurdistan Regional Government on Wednesday.

US-led coalition forces reportedly intercepted and destroyed 10 suicide drones over Erbil Province early Wednesday. Counterterrorism units confirmed that air defense systems engaged incoming threats between 1:13 a.m. and 3:31 a.m.

Defensive operations near Erbil International Airport triggered loud explosions that echoed across the regional capital. Local security authorities reported no casualties, while emergency responders inspected several sites where debris landed.

UAE diplomats described the attacks as a flagrant violation of national sovereignty. Furthermore, the official statement highlighted growing security concerns for neighboring countries, including Jordan, Kuwait, and Bahrain.

Regional stability faces further disruption as armed groups continue launching long-range strikes against key targets. Coalition military personnel remain on high alert to respond to incoming threats across northern airspace.

The Kurdistan Region’s Counterterrorism Directorate continues monitoring security threats to protect the public. Meanwhile, tensions among regional actors are escalating as international observers call for immediate diplomatic de-escalation.

Governments across the Middle East view the coordinated attacks as serious threats to local infrastructure. Consequently, the UAE’s reaffirmation of support signals stronger political backing for Erbil during the current period of instability.

Defense analysts predict heightened security measures around critical transport hubs, including major commercial airports. Moving forward, regional intelligence agencies are expected to strengthen cooperation to prevent future drone attacks.
