Human Rights Group Demands Justice After Alleged Cross-Border Shooting of Kurdish Shepherd

The Independent Human Rights Commission issued a fierce condemnation on Sunday after Iranian forces allegedly shot and killed a Kurdish shepherd in the Kilashin mountainous border region. The commission called for an immediate international investigation into the incident.

Reports indicate that troops from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) opened fire on the civilian, causing his death at the scene. Iranian forces then reportedly took his body across the border and seized his entire flock of sheep.

The violent act sparked immediate outrage among human rights advocates. The commission described the incident as a direct attack on an innocent civilian, arguing that the shooting violated international border agreements and breached territorial sovereignty between the neighboring nations. Such actions, the commission stated, contradict fundamental human rights principles, which prioritize the protection of civilian lives.

Unfortunately, this tragedy is not an isolated incident. The commission expressed deep concern over similar past border conflicts and called for a transparent international inquiry into repeated violations. It demanded full legal accountability for those responsible and urged that the victim’s family receive fair financial compensation.

The human rights group vowed to monitor the situation closely while maintaining communication with regional authorities. It hopes to prevent future border violence through official diplomatic channels.

Tensions remain high in the Kilashin region following the deadly encounter. Local residents fear further cross-border aggression from Iranian military units. Consequently, community leaders are calling for increased border security measures to protect vulnerable rural workers from future attacks.

International observers are also monitoring the diplomatic fallout, as the crisis could further strain relations between the two countries. Security analysts predict stricter border controls in the coming weeks. For now, the victim’s family awaits justice and the return of the body.
