KRG Completes Nearly $783.7 Million in Road Projects Under Ninth Cabinet

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – The KRG road projects ninth cabinet program has delivered nearly $783.7 million worth of road infrastructure since the formation of the current government, officials confirmed.

A senior official stated that the Ministry of Construction and Housing prioritized the road sector as a central pillar of the ninth cabinet’s development agenda. He emphasized that infrastructure expansion remains essential for economic growth and public service improvement.

“Our ministry has placed significant emphasis on the road sector within the agenda of the ninth cabinet,” he said. “From the beginning of this cabinet until the end of 2025, more than 750 various road projects have been completed.”

The KRG road projects ninth cabinet initiative includes highways, rural roads, bridges, and urban traffic improvements. Authorities reported that these projects aim to modernize transportation networks across the Kurdistan Region.

Officials explained that expanding and rehabilitating road infrastructure reduces travel time and improves safety standards. In addition, better connectivity supports trade, tourism, and regional mobility. Therefore, infrastructure investment plays a direct role in strengthening the economy.

The nearly $783.7 million investment reflects sustained government funding despite financial challenges in recent years. Authorities stated that careful planning and phased implementation allowed the ministry to complete projects efficiently.

Engineers and contractors worked to upgrade both major highways and secondary roads linking towns and districts. As a result, residents in remote areas now benefit from improved access to markets, schools, and healthcare services.

The KRG road projects ninth cabinet framework also focuses on long-term durability. Officials incorporated modern engineering standards and safety measures into construction plans. They aim to reduce maintenance costs and enhance road lifespan.

Government representatives reaffirmed their commitment to continuing infrastructure expansion beyond 2025. They indicated that additional strategic road projects remain under development.

In conclusion, the KRG road projects ninth cabinet program marks a major milestone in regional infrastructure modernization. The completion of more than 750 projects underscores the government’s continued focus on connectivity, safety, and economic development.
