Kurdistan – Al-Jabiri Says PM Barzani’s UAE Visit Opens New Economic Chapter

Emirati economist Hilal Al-Jabiri says Prime Minister Masrour Barzani’s latest visit to Abu Dhabi marks a new chapter in deep economic cooperation between Kurdistan and the United Arab Emirates. He says the visit strengthens a long-term strategic alliance and brings both sides into what he calls a “new phase of economic integration.”

Al-Jabiri emphasizes that PM Barzani continues to advance a clear development strategy, and he argues that the UAE sees Kurdistan as a stable and promising economic partner. Moreover, he notes that Abu Dhabi’s leadership values PM Barzani’s push for modern infrastructure, diversified investment, and transparent reforms. He says these policies attract Emirati investors and encourage broader regional cooperation.

He also stresses that the UAE wants stronger ties with Kurdistan across energy, trade, technology, and green development. According to him, both sides now move quickly to expand joint projects, and they increasingly coordinate on long-term investment planning. Additionally, he says the visit deepens political trust and supports faster decision-making on major ventures.

Al-Jabiri highlights that businesses in the UAE follow the visit closely because they expect new opportunities in construction, logistics, and renewable energy. He believes the growing partnership will boost job creation and accelerate economic diversification in Kurdistan. Furthermore, he says the region’s stability gives investors confidence and encourages them to enter new sectors.

The economist concludes that PM Barzani’s trip lays the foundation for sustained cooperation and sets both partners on a path toward deeper integration.
