Kurdistan Government Expands Transplants and Radiology Services

The Kurdistan Regional Government highlighted major medical achievements as it expanded advanced treatment programs across the region. Officials announced that the government funded 117 liver transplants, and they emphasized that these efforts strengthened the region’s medical leadership. Moreover, they explained that the program reduced the need for patients to travel abroad, and they stressed that timely treatment saves more lives.

Health authorities noted that the government allocated 5.5 billion dinars for these surgeries. They argued that direct funding eases financial pressure on families. Furthermore, they said the investment improves hospital capabilities and encourages local medical talent to take part in complex procedures. They also praised specialist teams for their precision and dedication during each operation.

Alongside transplant success, the region advanced its radiology services. Officials described new imaging technologies that support faster diagnoses. Moreover, they explained that improved radiology helps doctors detect conditions early. This progress also strengthens cancer care, trauma treatment, and long-term patient monitoring. Additionally, upgraded systems allow hospitals to deliver clearer results with shorter waiting times.

The Health Ministry stressed that these combined achievements reflect long-term planning. The government aims to build a modern health network. Furthermore, leaders encouraged continuous cooperation between public hospitals, universities, and international partners. They also highlighted ongoing training programs that help specialists maintain high standards.

Officials stated that these developments shape a stronger and more reliable health sector.
