Kurdistan President Warns of New Threats, Urges Unity to Protect National Identity

Zakho – President Masoud Barzani cautioned that conspiracies against the Kurdistan Region continue in modern and more complex forms, calling on all citizens to remain vigilant and united in defense of their national rights.

During his visit to Zakho, the President explained that the nature of threats has evolved over time. “Today, our enemies use new tools,” he said. “They attack through narcotics, economic pressure, and attempts to weaken our sense of national identity.”

He emphasized that while Kurdistan once faced open military aggression, the current challenges are more subtle but equally dangerous. Barzani urged the people of Kurdistan to stay alert and to confront these threats through solidarity, awareness, and faith in their democratic values.

The President also underlined the importance of upholding the Iraqi constitution as a foundation for protecting the Kurdistan Region’s constitutional rights. “We must act with wisdom and unity,” he said, “because division only serves those who wish to undermine our achievements.”

Barzani reaffirmed his confidence in the resilience of the Kurdish people and their ability to protect their homeland through cooperation and shared purpose. “Kurdistan’s strength lies in the unity of its people,” he concluded.
