Kurdistan Region Notes De-Escalation in Western Kurdistan

The Kurdistan Region Presidency said tensions in Western Kurdistan have eased. A spokesperson confirmed the development on Tuesday. He linked the change to sustained political engagement.

The spokesperson said the Kurdistan Region continues diplomatic efforts. He stressed that dialogue remains the main approach. Moreover, he highlighted consistent communication with international partners.

According to the statement, regional leaders worked to reduce escalation. They engaged with global actors throughout recent crises. As a result, international attention toward Western Kurdistan increased.

The spokesperson explained that these efforts built strong international backing. He said diplomatic outreach focused on stability and civilian protection. In addition, officials emphasized preventing further violence.

Meanwhile, Kurdistan Region leaders maintained contact with Kurdish representatives in Syria. They also coordinated with regional governments. Consequently, mediation channels remained active.

The spokesperson noted that calm returned gradually. He said reduced clashes improved humanitarian conditions. Furthermore, he said aid access discussions progressed.

Officials stressed that the situation remains fragile. Therefore, continued dialogue remains essential. The spokesperson urged all sides to avoid military escalation.

He also highlighted the role of Kurdish unity. According to him, coordination among Kurdish parties strengthened negotiations. As a result, international actors viewed Kurdish demands as credible.

The Kurdistan Region Presidency reaffirmed its support for Western Kurdistan. The spokesperson said support includes political advocacy and humanitarian facilitation. Additionally, he said Erbil continues diplomatic coordination.
