Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani Endorses Türkiye’s New Law on National Solidarity

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani officially endorsed a major legislative act that the Turkish Parliament recently adopted. He described the new law as a vital milestone that will foster regional peace and economic prosperity.

The Turkish Parliament recently passed the Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration to resolve domestic conflicts. Consequently, the legal framework seeks to build mutual trust and encourage peaceful coexistence among diverse communities across Türkiye.

In his public statement, President Barzani emphasized that peaceful dialogue offers the only viable path toward long-term stability. Furthermore, he noted that the historical era of relying on weapons and military strategies has permanently ended.

The Kurdish leader expressed sincere gratitude to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for championing this reconciliation effort. Additionally, he thanked various political leaders and party factions who actively cooperated to pass this landmark legislation.

This legislative progress aligns with broader efforts to transform security relations and expand economic opportunities across neighboring borders. Therefore, regional analysts expect the law to stimulate cross-border trade, infrastructure investment, and overall market stability.

Historically, decades of armed conflict hindered regional integration and disrupted vital economic development throughout the border areas. However, this statutory shift signals a deliberate transition toward political cooperation and permanent social reconciliation.

President Barzani urged all political parties, community leaders, and civic organizations to support the integration initiative fully. Moreover, he reaffirmed the Kurdistan Regional Government’s steadfast commitment to assisting efforts that promote regional security.

Looking forward, state authorities will implement administrative mechanisms to translate the legal provisions into practical social measures. Meanwhile, international observers and regional trade partners will closely monitor implementation to assess long-term political impact.
