Erbil, Kurdistan Region – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani marked Kurdish Journalism Day by reaffirming support for press freedom and media work across the Kurdistan Region.
In a message shared on social media, Barzani congratulated journalists on the occasion. He highlighted the historical importance of the day, which commemorates the first publication of the Kurdistan newspaper by Miqdad Madhat Badirkhan. The day also marks the founding anniversary of the Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate.
Barzani expressed appreciation for the role of journalists in society. He praised their efforts in delivering information and covering important events. Moreover, he wished them continued success in their professional work.
