Raparin Gears Up for 24-Hour Electricity as KRG’s Runaki Program Moves Ahead

The Raparin Independent Administration is preparing to receive 24-hour electricity as part of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Runaki Program, which is moving toward earlier implementation.

According to reporter Aras Amin in Raparin, the program—originally planned for launch in February 2026—has been rescheduled to begin sooner, reflecting the KRG’s commitment to accelerating service improvements across the region.

Local officials confirmed that preparations are underway to ensure a smooth transition to continuous power supply. The program aims to modernize the electricity system, reduce power outages, and lower household expenses through advanced management and distribution technologies.

The Runaki initiative, already successful in other parts of the Kurdistan Region, represents a major step toward sustainable infrastructure and improved quality of life. It is also expected to support economic growth by ensuring stable energy for businesses and public institutions.

Residents of Raparin have expressed optimism, viewing the program as a long-awaited solution to decades of inconsistent power supply.
