Runaki Program Cuts Electricity Costs for Families Across Kurdistan

Households across the Kurdistan Region now enjoy record-low electricity bills. Officials credited the Runaki Program for reducing monthly expenses. Families reported significant savings compared to past reliance on generators.

The Ministry explained that nearly 80 percent of homes benefit from the initiative. Low-income families gained the most relief, paying less than ever before. Authorities stressed that this shift improves daily living standards.

Previously, residents depended on a costly mix of grid supply and diesel generators. That system placed heavy financial pressure on households. Now, the Runaki Program delivers a more reliable and affordable alternative.

Moreover, officials highlighted the environmental impact. Reduced generator use means cleaner air and fewer emissions. They argued that both the economy and the environment gain from this transition.

Community leaders praised the program as a turning point. They said energy stability encourages business growth and family wellbeing. In addition, they believe stronger electricity services will support future investment.

The Ministry also confirmed that expansion plans are underway. They aim to extend the program to more rural areas. As a result, even remote communities will soon share the benefits.

With costs falling and reliability improving, the Runaki Program stands as a model for sustainable progress. Authorities concluded that it proves how policy can directly improve daily life.
