President Barzani Calls for Unity on Ashura

President Nechirvan Barzani of the Kurdistan Region marked Ashura with a strong call for national unity across Iraq. He used the solemn occasion to urge all Iraqis to embrace the moral values embodied by Imam Hussein. These values, he noted, remain relevant during moments of national difficulty.

Barzani shared his message through an official statement. He highlighted how Ashura always renews the spirit of patience, justice, and sacrifice. He reminded citizens that Imam Hussein’s stand against injustice still speaks to all generations. The president believes Iraq must protect those same values through collective action.

During his remarks, Barzani repeated one key message three times: Iraq needs unity now more than ever. This unity can heal divisions. It can also help leaders build a stronger country. He said all parties in Iraq must solve their differences peacefully and place the country’s future above all else.

He called on political groups to increase dialogue. Barzani urged leaders to put national interest ahead of individual agendas. In his view, every Iraqi has a role in building lasting peace. Only by working together can the people overcome their many challenges.

Ashura, observed every year, honors the martyrdom of Imam Hussein at Karbala. For millions of Muslims, the day symbolizes truth, courage, and resistance against oppression. Many Iraqis reflect deeply during this religious period. Barzani believes this reflection can inspire positive change.

The president also emphasized the humanitarian message of the event. He pointed to its timeless lessons of sacrifice, equality, and compassion. These lessons, he stressed, should guide Iraqis during times of tension and transition.

The significance of Ashura, especially in Iraq, continues to grow. Communities gather to remember the pain of injustice. They also remember the strength that comes through faith and unity. Barzani encouraged everyone to keep that spirit alive in every part of the country.

As Iraq faces political challenges and social tensions, Barzani’s Ashura message stands out. He promotes peace and calls for unity in Iraq. His words aim to bring Iraqis closer together, regardless of background or belief.
