Kurdistan Expands MyAccount Initiative to Boost Digital Banking for Employees

Kurdistan has taken a major step to modernize public salaries through its new MyAccount initiative. This project aims to bring digital banking to thousands of public employees. The MyAccount initiative marks a shift from outdated cash systems to safer and smarter banking tools.

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) launched the MyAccount initiative to strengthen digital banking. This project helps government workers receive salaries directly through their personal bank accounts. The program supports both secure payments and access to wider financial services.

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani leads this financial shift with strong support from his cabinet. His team introduced the MyAccount initiative to improve salary management and reduce risks. By relying less on cash, employees now enjoy greater financial freedom and stronger protection.

Kurdistan’s MyAccount initiative connects workers with digital services across several banks. Employees can now apply for loans, create savings accounts, and pay bills online. This also improves transparency and limits fraud.

More importantly, the MyAccount initiative supports long-term financial literacy. The government plans to educate citizens on digital payments and online banking. Officials believe this step will prepare future generations for a more advanced economy.

KRG’s broader vision ties MyAccount to economic growth and modernization. The Region wants to lead digital reforms and build a system that fits global standards. The program helps integrate Kurdish citizens into the formal economy while reducing untracked transactions.

Already, thousands of employees have registered for MyAccount. Many have started using cards and mobile apps to manage their income. Banks in Kurdistan have also upgraded their systems to support this project.

Additionally, the initiative helps smaller cities and towns. Public workers outside major centers now gain better banking access and equal services. This brings financial equality across all provinces in the Region.

The KRG’s digital push shows clear commitment to innovation. Through MyAccount, Kurdistan has signaled its readiness for digital finance. The government continues to expand this program with support from both local banks and international partners.

With steady growth and increasing interest, the MyAccount initiative promises to transform how people in Kurdistan interact with money.
