Kurdistan Hosts ‘Stars and Breezes’ Art Event Celebrating Creativity and Unity

Artists from across the regions gathered in Al-Sulaimaniyah for a vibrant celebration of creativity. The three-day event, Stars and Breezes of Kurdistan, attracted widespread attention with a powerful message of cultural unity and artistic freedom.

Held in the heart of the Kurdistan Region, the exhibition featured over 50 artworks. Paintings and ceramic pieces filled the venue with vivid color and emotional expression. Visitors, including academics and art professionals, praised the variety and depth of the collections.

Fadia Talal Al-Nuaimi, who leads the Fadia Cultural and Arts Collective, described the event as a unique platform. According to her, Stars and Breezes of Kurdistan unites artists from diverse ethnic and cultural communities. Through both an open exhibition and a dynamic symposium, it allowed artists to share ideas, techniques, and visions.

This was the 16th installment in a series of exhibitions hosted across Baghdad and other provinces. However, the atmosphere in Al-Sulaimaniyah gave it a special flavor. Organizers aimed to blend the experiences of artists from different parts of the country with the unique cultural scene of Kurdistan. This effort reflected a wider mission to promote exchange and mutual respect.

Notable figures from the cultural scene attended the gathering. Dr. Mohammed Fattah, a respected artist, offered insights into the development of visual arts. Mahabad Jamal Ashraf, head of the Visual Arts Department, emphasized the importance of supporting young artists. Kawthar Mohammed Amin Qadir, director of the Endowments Library, spoke about preserving art as part of national identity.

From the first day, the Stars and Breezes of Kurdistan exhibition drew large crowds. Students, media, and art lovers came to explore the many works on display. They left inspired by the depth and diversity of the artistic voices presented.

To honor the participants, the Fadia Cultural and Arts Collective held a closing ceremony. Artists received shields, medals, and certificates as tokens of appreciation. The awards celebrated not only individual talent but also a shared commitment to cultural growth.

Through Stars and Breezes of Kurdistan, Al-Sulaimaniyah once again proved its place as a cultural bridge between regions. The event showed how art can build connections, heal divisions, and inspire the next generation.
