The Fruits You Should Avoid in the Morning

Health experts are raising awareness about which fruits are good—or bad—for breakfast. While fruits are often considered a healthy option, not all of them support energy and wellness at the start of the day. Some actually spike your blood sugar and leave you feeling tired soon after.

Nutrition specialist Nicola Ludlam-Raine recently shared a list of the best and worst morning fruits. She emphasized that some fruits contain too much natural sugar, which may seem harmless but can disrupt your energy levels.

Watermelon ranked as the worst choice. Although it’s packed with water and vitamin C, its sugar content makes it a poor fruit to begin your day with.

Coming next is pineapple. It contains bromelain, a helpful enzyme for digestion and inflammation. Still, its high sugar level puts it low on the list for a healthy breakfast.

Bananas and grapes follow in third place. These are popular in households especially in the breakfasts, but their sugar load can lead to quick energy crashes.

On the other hand, fruits such as oranges, kiwi, and berries are much better choices. They are rich in vitamin C and contain less sugar, helping you stay energized longer.
