Erbil and Iranian Firms Discuss Bigger Construction Plans

Erbil welcomed a group of Iranian investors and construction executives to boost economic ties and push forward city development projects. The meeting took place at the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where Deputy Chairman Kamaran Salah Bajkar urged the visitors to increase their business presence in the city.

Right now, 395 Iranian companies are operating across the Kurdistan Region. Out of those, 200 have already established a base in Erbil. Bajkar noted that the total trade volume with these companies has reached $4 billion every year. He encouraged Iranian firms to open more local branches and invest directly in infrastructure projects. He also promised full support from the Chamber to make things easier for incoming investors.

Moreover, Bajkar stressed the importance of stronger economic partnerships to help speed up reconstruction and urban renewal. He said Erbil offers great opportunities and welcomes companies ready to bring both capital and expertise.

In return, the head of the Iranian delegation confirmed plans to expand operations in Erbil. He said their companies aim to share technical knowledge, open new offices, and launch local factories. These steps will help establish a long-term presence in the city and support its continued growth.

The talks showed a shared interest in deepening economic cooperation and pushing forward construction and development across Erbil.
