Erbil to Host Women’s Volleyball Championship Finals

Erbil will welcome top women’s volleyball clubs from across the country for the championship finals from August 25 to 29. The matches will take place at the Akad Ankawa Club hall, offering three exciting games every day.

The event will feature six strong teams: Akad Ankawa, Sanharib, Amanat Baghdad, Aphrodite, Darbandikhan, and Qaraqosh. Organizers promise an energetic competition where every team will fight hard for the title.

On the opening day, Aphrodite will face Darbandikhan in the first match. Later, Sanharib will challenge defending champions Qaraqosh. The day will end with Akad Ankawa competing against Amanat Baghdad. This schedule ensures fans enjoy continuous action and fierce rallies.

Qaraqosh enters the tournament as the team to beat. The club recently won the national girls’ volleyball league in July at the Solaf Club hall in Kirkuk. Their victory there has given them strong momentum and confidence ahead of the finals.

Federation President Habib Ali al-Lawandi emphasized that the organizing committee aims to deliver smooth scheduling and fair play. The plan for three matches daily guarantees high-intensity competition and ample entertainment for supporters.

This championship will highlight the talent of women athletes and strengthen volleyball’s popularity in the region. It will also bring together players and fans, adding excitement to Erbil’s sports calendar.
