The Kurdistan Regional Government has announced that the seasonal flu vaccine is now available at all major health centers in Sulaymaniyah. Health officials urge citizens to get vaccinated to prevent influenza infections during the coming months.
Dr. Sarkar Sourchi, spokesperson for the Kurdistan Ministry of Health, confirmed that the vaccine will also be available in Erbil and Duhok, with Sulaymaniyah scheduled to receive supplies next week. The campaign is part of the Ministry’s annual program, timed to coincide with the start of the autumn season when flu cases typically rise.
Dr. Sourchi explained that the vaccine is administered under the supervision of qualified medical doctors. Receiving the vaccine at a certified health center ensures proper handling, dosage, and safety. Health authorities emphasize that vaccination significantly reduces the risk of influenza, particularly among vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and those with chronic illnesses.
The General Directorate of Health in Sulaymaniyah also advised residents to visit their nearest health centers for vaccination. Officials highlighted that the flu vaccine not only lowers infection rates but also eases symptoms for those who contract the virus. By boosting immunity, the vaccine helps the community recover faster and reduces the overall burden on healthcare facilities.
Medical experts encourage widespread participation to strengthen public health defenses. Citizens are reminded that annual flu vaccination remains one of the most effective measures to protect individual and community health during the flu season.
