Vision Education Expands to Vienna with Global Urban Conference

Vision Education is taking a major international step by organizing its first Vision Education global conference in Vienna, Austria. The event will focus on urban planning and smart technologies and will take place from March 23 to 25, 2026.

The foundation, based in Erbil, was founded in 2018 by Idriss Nechirvan Barzani. Since then, Vision Education has supported schools and universities across the Kurdistan Region. Through its projects, the organization promotes innovation, modern learning, and sustainable development.

The upcoming Vision Education global conference will run under the theme “Cities and Regions of Tomorrow: Planning Together Through Education.” The event aims to explore how education can drive sustainable and inclusive urban growth. It will also address current global challenges such as climate change, migration, and digital transformation.

The announcement came after Vision Education signed a Memorandum of Understanding with REAL CORP. This international organization has hosted smart-city and spatial-planning conferences worldwide since 1996. The partnership marks a new milestone for Vision Education as it extends its influence beyond Iraq.

Manfred Schrenk, Chairman of CORP, said the collaboration opens new professional and geographic opportunities. He stressed that education remains central to sustainable transformation. Together with Vision Education, CORP aims to create new momentum for smart and resilient urban development.

Prof. Dr. Dana Mawlood, CEO of Vision Education, highlighted that the partnership fits perfectly with the foundation’s mission. He explained that connecting education with urban and regional development helps communities prepare for rapid change. “Education gives people and institutions the skills to face modern urban challenges,” he said.

The Vision Education global conference will bring together planners, educators, researchers, and policymakers from different countries. It will promote cooperation between cities, universities, and private institutions. Participants will share solutions for improving urban life through education and technology.

With this initiative, Vision Education strengthens Iraq’s academic presence on the global stage. The foundation continues to prove that quality education can shape the cities of tomorrow.
