KRG’s Runaki Project Brings 24-Hour Power and Major Savings to Millions

The Kurdistan Regional Government’s Runaki Project has transformed the region’s power sector, delivering 24-hour electricity to four million people. The Minister of Electricity announced that the project has reduced household electricity bills by 80%, ending decades of unreliable service.

The Runaki initiative marks one of the most ambitious infrastructure achievements in the Kurdistan Region’s history. It integrates advanced technology, modern energy management systems, and efficient power distribution to ensure consistent access to electricity for homes and businesses.

Officials explained that the project not only improves daily life but also strengthens the region’s economy by providing stable energy for industries and public institutions. With uninterrupted power, communities now experience greater comfort, productivity, and sustainability.

The Electricity Minister emphasized that the project’s success demonstrates the KRG’s ability to deliver large-scale development solutions. He also highlighted that the government remains committed to expanding renewable energy sources and reducing dependency on outdated systems.
