A Hospital In Performs 600 Surgeries Monthly Despite Rising Injuries

Orthopedic and bone surgeries in Erbil are increasing rapidly. At Rozhawa Emergency Hospital, nearly 600 surgeries are performed each month. This number highlights the hospital’s critical role in the city’s healthcare system.

The hospital operates 24 hours a day without pause. Every day, dozens of patients arrive in urgent need. Most of these cases involve serious injuries from road accidents or other emergencies.

Orthopedic and bone surgeries in Erbil continue to rise due to the growing number of trauma cases. Dr. Karwan Yasin, director of the hospital, confirmed these statistics. He explained that the hospital receives a steady flow of emergency patients every day.

Dr. Yasin reported that, surgeons performed 19 orthopedic procedures in less than five hours. Four surgical halls worked simultaneously that morning. Among the 19 operations, eight were performed on children. These young patients had injuries caused by falls, collisions, or traffic incidents.

Orthopedic and bone surgeries in Erbil require constant coordination. The hospital’s medical staff works tirelessly to meet the demands of the rising cases. With so many trauma-related admissions, the surgery team must respond swiftly and precisely.

Dr. Yasin noted that most injuries involve fractures to limbs, hips, or joints. Many patients are victims of road accidents, workplace mishaps, or household incidents. The hospital handles both adults and children equally and ensures that surgeries proceed without delays.

The increase in orthopedic and bone surgeries in Erbil reflects a broader issue. Traffic accidents and urban hazards are on the rise. The hospital’s ability to manage these emergencies is critical to the city’s public health.

To handle the growing pressure, the hospital is expanding its capacity. More surgical halls and trained staff are being prepared to meet the demands. Dr. Yasin said the facility remains committed to providing timely care to every patient, regardless of age or injury.
