Kurdistan and Venezuela Explore Closer Ties in Regional Dialogue

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani met with Venezuela’s ambassador to Iraq, Arturo Anibal Gallegos Ramirez, to discuss expanding bilateral relations. The meeting, held in Erbil, highlighted both countries’ interest in strengthening diplomatic cooperation and addressing regional challenges together.

During the talks, Barzani and Ramirez examined current political conditions across Iraq, with particular focus on the Kurdistan Region. They also reviewed broader regional dynamics, identifying areas for collaboration and coordination.

Both leaders stressed the importance of maintaining regional stability. They agreed that dialogue remains the most effective method for solving disputes and ensuring progress.

Barzani reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region’s commitment to international cooperation. He welcomed Venezuela’s efforts to build meaningful partnerships in the Middle East, particularly with semi-autonomous regions such as Kurdistan.

Ramirez expressed his government’s interest in enhancing ties with Erbil. He praised the Kurdistan Region’s leadership for promoting peace, stability, and international outreach. Additionally, he expressed hope that stronger ties between Kurdistan and Venezuela could benefit both peoples economically and politically.

The meeting comes at a time of shifting alliances and increased diplomatic activity in the Middle East. Both sides viewed the discussion as a constructive step toward deeper understanding and long-term engagement.
